Living in Texas, I have found that the saying "the bigger, the better" doesn't always ring true, especially when it comes to my high school experience. I go to an enormous high school with about 900 kids in my graduating class, and although being surrounded by that many kids sounds like an unlimitless opportunity to make friends, for me, it was quite the opposite. One of the reasons was the lack of diversity and the fact that the African American population is less than 1%, which made the experience extremely isolating. The school can improve by increasing its diverse representation and being there for students of color when they are experiencing the racism that often entails. Although I felt alone in many of my high schools, that loneliness allowed me to indulge in the numerous advanced courses the school offers, which I believe is its most admirable quality.

My overall experience with Lake Travis High School provided me with numerous opportunities but little to no social culture.
Lake Travis High School has many clubs, organizations, and resources that can elevate their students and help them stand out to colleges or different paths after high school. However, I struggled to find my place socially due to the lack of diversity and similar mindsets throughout Lake Travis.

Lake Travis High School was some of the best years of my life. I was an athlete during all 4 years and being on a team is an incredible seeing everyone succeed with the schools great athletics. The academics of the school offers a large verity of choices and many different options to choose from.

In the past 3 years of attending Lake Travis High School, I've been able to connect to many people with the same culture as me due to the visible diversity the school has, something to recognize is how welcoming the school and teachers are to immigrant students like me; Having them into the path of success. It gave me such a pleasant experience, but now that it is considered part of the upcoming senior class of 2025, I can certainly say that the school's desire to offer sufficient guidance for seniors in the process of college applications is not enough. I’ve been finding myself lost in this unknown journey of applying to college and especially scholarships, due to the lack of information given by the head of school representatives, I think this information should be provided by the school even if most of their kids do not require financial aid, there is a significant portion of students who do need the financial support to pay for college and they are not being guided.

I've enjoyed LTHS, the campus is nice, and there are a lot of different opportunities that students are presented. LTHS offers CTE classes, or Career Technology Education classes that allow students to learn about the career they are interested in, I've taken an architecture course throughout my time at LTHS, and it has been my favorite part of high school. The school is a little bit sports-focused however, like most high schools in Texas, but even as a fine art kid, my experience has been overall positive. The teachers are good, and there are lots of people, so everyone is capable of finding people they click with.

I honestly really like and value my high school, it's the school culture and the student's behavior that is continually excused and not enforced by the administration. This causes bad and harmful behavior from students, and they aren't punished.

Lake Travis had a lot of opportunities for students hoping for college credit! I also loved that there were so many different options for extracurriculars, including a variety of clubs. My one complaint is that competition is so high here; chances for auto-admission to UT started with a minimum weighted GPA of 4.6.

I have had a great experience at Lake Travis High School. They provide a lot of different course options that get you ready for what you plan to major in college. The AP and Honor Classes are excellent and get you ready for what it is going to be like in college. One thing they can improve on is their culture and the staff making the classes/lessons more engaging. I was an athlete, so the facilities at school were amazing and we had a lot of support behind us.

Overall my experience at Lake Travis High School was good. I was able to thrive as a person through the athletics and challenging courses I took. Also as an African American there was not a lot of diversity but not a lot of racism either.

So far I have loved my high school experience but I believe that is just because of my friends. Most of my teachers are ok, some have high energy and you can tell they are passionate about their jobs. The food is ok but it is not the most nutritious and lots of the meals don't taste the best. There was an incident with some kids and a peanut allergy that prooves our school does not care about bullying.

I have loved attending Lake Travis High School! I have met so many amazing people and made some life long friends. The only thing I would LOVE to see change, is for the school to stop spending money on athletics when we aren't even good, and spend the money instead on new parking lots, new buildings, and new classrooms with better resources.

I transferred to LT in my sophom*ore year and have had a great experience, with any high school there are downfalls, but I'd say that it is much better than my previous high school. The teachers are great, the students are all good for the most part, and I settled into the school quickly. With any high school, there is drama, so I won't say it's drama-free by any means, but because it is a big school, those kinds of problems tend to go away quickly.

If a school doesn't stand against bullying then they don't deserve one good rating in any given area.

DOES NOT protect or care about student safety. Especially regarding bullying and children with severe allergies being purposely exposed to peanuts as a bullying tactic. TWICE. This school is a dangerous environment. They care more about their sports rep than the possibility of a child literally dying!! Shameful.

If your child has a severe allergy do not let them attend this school. They are allowing football players to taunt a fellow teammate who is deathly allergic to peanuts. This administration should be ashamed of itself.

The school is overall very good with a wide selection of classes and clubs. Although being a great school for sports, people who don't do sports are left out.

The expectations at this high school are very high in terms of grades and preparing students for college. This is a wealthy area so the facilities are very high end and there are constantly new additions to the school. My brother is currently a senior and he has experienced already all of the changes and improves from when I've graduated in 2020. They have added more parking, more police/security presence on campus, and having documentation of all students who leave campus during school hours. Overall, it's a great school and it honestly almost felt like a community college due to the large amount of students and the amenities available. Something I would like to see is more diversity and inclusion of different ethnicities and backgrounds.
